My feet brought home a souvenir from Disney World

While we were out in Disney World, my feet began to hurt. This wasn’t just tired of walking hurt, this was “What in the world?” kind of hurt. I just limped along through Disney World, trying not to slow us down. Jason kept telling me that we should go get it checked out, but he should have known better than try to take me away from Disney World and take me to a doctors. Honestly! But I did promise that I would get them checked out when we got home. I just went to the podiatrist and after looking at my x-rays he said that I had brought home a souvenir in my left foot. A stress fracture. I also told the doctor that I would feel a “popping” sound in my foot whenever I stepped on it. He said, additionally, I had a nerve locked between my joints. He felt around my left foot and then twisted his wrist and POP went my foot! My eyes grew wide as I tried to hide the pain! He just pushed the nerve out and he said it is going to hurt for a few days but otherwise it would continue to grow worse. He also gave me a shot to calm the nerve down so it doesn’t get locked again, but at that point my foot hurt so bad that one little shot didn’t bother me. Along with the stress fracture, it’s no wonder why my left foot was killing me. At Disneyworld, I began to put more pressure on my right foot due to the pain in my left foot, which naturally made that hurt as well during the trip. The podiatrist said that it is amazing that I was able to continue to walk around Disney World without a wheelchair. I guess there was some Disney magic that helped me get through it! My left foot still hurts a little bit, especially after today, but he said that all will be well in the next 4-6 weeks. My only piece of advice from this is: Get the wheelchair at Disney World (shorter lines!).

  1. Oh, sad! Your poor feetsies! I'm just happy that Disney World prevailed and you hurt feet didn't ruin the trip! We hope we get to see you guys this weekend.... we'll have to do something that doesn't involve a lot of walking! Love you guys!
