Busiest Day on the Trip!

What a busy day! Wehave done and seen so much in paris. We woke up early and went to Notre Dame, followed by going to the Louvre, Angelina`s for a hot chocolate, out to Versailles, and back into Paris to go to musée d`Orsay. It was an eventful day! Check out the pictures below. Oh, and for once, Evian water is just about the cheapest drink you can get.

This is a picture of us just before we went into the Louvre. It was a,awing to see all of the major works such as Venus; Cupid and Psyché, and of course the Mona Lisa.

This is a picture of us drinking liquid chocolate at Angelina`s. It is the BEST hot chocolate we have ever had.

And finally, this is a picture of us standing in front of the huge palace at Versailles. It makes a normal house look like living in a cardboard box.

Au revoir for now!

Bonjour!

Well, it has been an eventful day in Paris. We cannot get our computer to connect to the wireless network here at our hotel. So we are experiencing French keyboards, in their full inverted weirdness. To give you an idea how weird it is, you have to shift to use period, the comma sign is where M usually is, and the worst one is A ad Q are switched.

Below is a picture of us on top of the Eiffel Tower. It was wonderful to be at the top of the tower and see the bulk of Paris!

Below is a picture of us across the river Seine overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Shortly thereafter we ate a wonderful Nutella Crêpe.

We will try to do a video update tomorrow. Au revoir!

Tuesday in London

Well, our hotel is in the buinss district. It was a holiday weekend the last few days, and today was the first day where everyone is going back to work. The area has been dead everyday but today. It was packed! We were able to brave the crowds and got out to see the changing of the guard in front of Buckingham Palace, and the British Museum. Check out the pictures below.

This is a picture right outside the Westminster subway stop in London. It is a classic picture spot.

This is a picture of the troops marching for the changing of the guard.

This is a picture of us waiting in front of Buckingham Palace awaiting the ceremony for the changing of the guard.

This is a picture of us standing in front o a false door to an Egyptian Tomb that can be seen in the Egyptian section of the British Museum. It was so much fun!

Off to France now!

Monday in London

Well, we have made it to day 3 on our journey, and it was amazing. We got up early and didn't stop until we couldn't run anymore. Take a look at Monday:

Here is the London Eye, which is basically the biggest and coolest Ferris Wheel. You get a in "pod" with about 10 other people and you slowly make your way around the wheel, which takes about 30 minutes. It gives you the most amazing views of London.

Here we are having a great time on the Eye. It was really the first day that we experienced typical British weather with cloudy skies, but by the afternoon it was beautiful and sunny. We really have lucked out with the weather thus far.

We then made our way over to the scary and deadly Tower of London. That was incredibly fun and we loved being inside this huge fortress. It had this amazing feeling to it that made you feel how things were back then. We loved listening to the Beefeaters and seeing the Crown Jewels. There is a lot to see and do. Here is a picture of us and the White Tower, otherwise known as the Bloody Tower. If you want to know why you will have to ask us later.

Just right across the way is Tower Bridge, not to be confused with the London Bridge that keeps falling down. London Bridge is actually right by our hotel but this is Tower Bridge which is the most recognizable bridge in London. Here is a picture of it

To finish up the day, we went over to the famous address of 221 Bakerstreet where Sherlock Holmes resides. Jason just loved that! We then ate out at a fancy Italian resteraunt and had the most amazing tiramasu! After that Jason spoiled me again and took to go see Wicked. I know we have already seen it when we were out in Chicago but I think I am addicted! It was incredible as usual but fun to hear the songs sung with a British accent! We are watching a cricket match on the telly right now as we are getting ready for bed and to have another adventure tomorrow! Goodnight!

Sunday in London

We visited two places on our busy journey today. Check out these maps below and you can travel along with us. You may have to move the map a little to see both of the blue dots. Please feel free to zoom into those locations to see some of what we saw.

What a busy day we had here in London!! We started out great with a good nights rest and got up and headed to Hampton Court. This is a amazing place that truely shows the wealth and splendor of the old English Monarchies. My feet hurt because we walked all over that place. They kept the atmosphere of Hamptom Court really authentic so we ended up eating meat pie (beef pot pie) on a piece of wood fighting each other with wooden swords. Of course I- Lisa- won! :)

Here we are in the gardens at Hampton Court. Basically everywhere you go is green and spectacular! My favorite thing was the MAZE that in the gardens. I heard about it years ago and have wanted to go do it for a long time- and it was incredibly fun to finaly go through it.

I love this picture above where we are in this hallway that is just covered in greenery. I think Jason looks so handsome.

Above is just a quick shot of just a fraction of the gardens at Hampton Court. We really did spend a ton of time there and it was completely worth it! Jason was sweet and gave me a foot rub on the tube afterwards.

The picture above might give you an idea as to how crazy Camden Locks Market is! Basically it isn't so much as a market, but more of a town that is willing to sell everything, from jewelry to socks and tatoo's to birds. Wherever we go, Jason and I always like to do our shopping at swap meets because you always seem to get the best deals and a huge variety. We had a blast and spent a ton of money there!
