Favorite Picture Friday

So, Lisa said that I could do favorite picture Friday this week. Since she let me have "creative" control over the picture this week, I thought I would choose somthing that is blowing up. Yeah...well here it is! This picture was taken at Hollywood studios at the Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Spectacular. It is a really cool stunt show that shows you how movie people do many of the driving stunts you see in movies. It is really cool to watch. It is smoking tires and fire through most of the show. A good one for the people that like to see things blown up too. This was my favorite picture from the show.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I grew up loving St. Patrick's Day because I always had the dream of visiting Ireland someday. Now Jason and I were looking back at our pictures from Ireland and suddenly St. Patrick's Day means a lot more to us. If you ever have to opportunity to go to Ireland, I highly recommend it! We will tell anyone that it was the most beautiful country we have ever seen. The fields, the mountains, the history, and the people are all aspects of the country that make it irresistible. We pulled off just a few of our favorite pictures from Ireland that you might have an idea of how gorgeous it is there.

We are standing in front of the Kilkenny Castle, one of our favorite towns we visited on the whole trip. This is St. Patrick's Cathedral that can be found in downtown Dublin.

Here is Jason standing in front of the Cliffs of Moher holding his lucky clover he found. Did you know that St. Patrick used the clover to teach people about the trinity?

Here I am looking out of a window from inside the Waterford Castle where we stayed the night. How often do we get to spend the night in a castle? Being in that caslte and the town of Waterford was probably one of the best days of my life and I will never forget it.

When Jason presented the idea of going to Ireland I knew that he was doing it because I had always wanted to go there. He truly made one of my dreams come true and I can only hope that I can take him where he has always wanted to travel.

P.S. If you want a good song to listen to for St. Patrick's Day, listen to "Irelands Call" by Celtic Thunder. Celtic Thunder is an amazing group of men that have the vocal power of an entire choir and is one of our favorite groups. I listen to this song all the time and it gives me chills!

Walt Disney World Day 5-Animal Kingdom/EPCOT

Today was an amazing day. The weather was spectacular, and all of the animals were out to prove that they loved it too! One of the things that we loved the most about Animal Kingdom was that we did the safari again at Animal Kingdom. We saw so many animals that we couldn’t take pictures fast enough. As the day wore on we transferred over to Epcot via bus. We continued to tour the World Showcase and see all of the creations in Walt Disney World and Epcot.

Walt Disney World Day 4-EPCOT

EPCOT is the one Walt Disney World park that Lisa and I were looking forward to the most. If you haven’t been, EPCOT is divided into two different worlds. The first is future world. In future world, you really could spend a whole day. One of our favorite rides in future world was Mission Space. It makes you really feel like you are launching and spinning in space. We also like the Seas pavilion where you can see many live sea animals, including dolphins doing tricks and watching them be trained.

The second part of EPCOT is the World Showcase. There are so many things to talk about this part of EPCOT, that I would be hard-pressed to get them into a blog post. Just know that you feel like you are in little parts of the individual countries showcased in the park. We had amazing meals in the showcase pavilions, as well as some incredible snacks such as baklava, crepes, fish and chips, and even Italian gelato.

Walt Disney World Day 3-Hollywood Studios

The movies are a big part of Walt Disney World, obviously, but this park is dedicated to the Disney movies and all the tricks and special effects that go into making a movie that we watch. Today, we had fun going through and watch several stunt shows to see how they do special tricks and stunts without getting hurt. Of course all of our favorite movie characters are there, and they even do a big parade with all of the Pixar characters. We had a blast learning not only more about movies, but the man behind many of them, Walt Disney himself.

Walt Disney World: Day 2

Our Second day was wonderful! We wanted to see something different our first day, so we went to the Animal Kingdom. Today we wanted to see something familar. We went to the Magic Kingdom. This is a near duplicate of the park at Disneyland; however, it does have differences. The castle is much bigger here, all of the Presidents of the United States appear on a stage here, and there is no Materhorn. We LOVED it! Here are a few pictures of our highlights:

Walt Disney World Here We Are!

So we made it to Florida on our getaway Spring Break trip to Walt Disney World. After a car trip to Vegas airport and a red-eye flight we arrived at our hotel. It was about 7:00am here when we checked in and decided tha,t rather than sleeping, we would start to enjoy our time here. To go easy this first day we decided to head to the Animal Kingdom. It is like Disneyland and the zoo combined! There are so many amazing and beautiful sights that we couldn't see it all in one day. Here are some highlights from that first day:

Parade of Homes in St. George

It's that time of year again- the annual event known as The Parade of Homes. It is one of our favorite events of year and sadly, it has come and gone. Jason and I love to go and see the impressive houses in the southern Utah area. We get to see the latest and the greatest in home trends, home decor, and home based technology. Every year I like to find recurring themes that were found throughout the homes. This year, Jason and I declare the most common theme is..... Antinque. Nowadays every piece of a home can be made to look aged, from the furniture, the tile, and even the whole house. In our opinion, there are two ways to use the antique look in the home: country style (which we are not a fan of) and European (which we love). A couple other themes we noticed were dual islands in the kitchen and FIRE. This is St. George and every house had to have multiple fireplaces and fire pits! Clearly these people have never spent a summer down here. Some of the fire pits were pretty clever, such as the one below. This burning log can be turned on and off and you can roast marshmallows on it.
