Final Days in Egypt!!

Our last day in Luxor we fulfilled one of my dreams: to go on a hot air balloon ride. We had to wake up and be at the hot air balloon ride by 5 am, which of course was difficult, but we were so excited it didn't matter. We rode a boat across the Nile to get to the other side, and then were able to wait and watch the crew inflate the balloon.

Once the balloon was up and ready, we had to literally jump in the basket and then we slowly lifted off the ground. It was the most amazing feeling as we became part of the sky and soared over Egypt. We were above the sights we had seen the day before, such as the Valley of the Kings. The most miraculous part of the whole thing was watching the sunrise over Egypt and the Nile. It was so wonderful and we treasured the experience.

After we were done with floating up in the sky, we went around Luxor and visited the two ancient temples. The first pictures below are of the larger temple, Karnack, where the Egyptians built over 130 columns and walls, all covered with hieroglyphs. The next temple was Luxor temple, which is much smaller but nonetheless beautiful.

Our last day in Egypt was spent flying from Luxor back to Cairo so we could catch our flight heading to New York. We knew we would have a few hours before we would have to be at the airport, so we took some last minute photos. Here is our last day in Egypt!
