Favorite Picture Friday: Outreach Special

For Favorite Picture Friday I thought I would post some pictures of where I have been hiding the last few weeks: Outreach. Outreach has such a significant meaning because it has been the place where I go during the summers to become a better clinician and, I think, a better person. I hate being away from Jason, but at the same time I know that I am doing this for our future. Not many people spend their summers living with other women roommates, sitting in class for 8 hours, and then studying until 2 am. As hard as it has been, I know there is a part of me that will miss Outreach. I know the main thing I will miss are the friends and colleagues I have made during these 2 years of Graduate School. I just think it has been such an amazing opportunity to work as a Speech- Language Pathologist while I have been in Graduate school. This is my final summer finishing up the last bit of our program, so here are just a few pictures that I have caught in between late night report writing.

During our first week of school it was rainy and cold... not a good way to start a SUMMER semester. But then this happened, a double rainbow! We all claimed it was a sign that we can make it this summer.

We are having our final party later in the week so I will put up pictures from that, but for now I have 2 tests to study for and a report to write. Have a great day!!

Favorite Picture Friday: June 18, 2010

Happy Anniversary to Us!! We recently celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary on June 10th. It seems like just yesterday we were getting married, and yet we have come so far in our lives. I love Jason, not as much as I did the day I married him, but so much more because I have been able to get to know him better and see what a great man he is! Speaking of how great Jason is, here are the flowers that he sent me for our anniversary. Our first anniversary was spent in Hawaii, because that is where we went on our honeymoon. But the last 3 anniversaries have been spent apart, since I have been up in Logan for my Master's program during the summer months each year. Jason is so adorable and always sends me gorgeous flowers during school! It was great this year, because the day of our anniversary a few of the girls kept asking when my flowers were going to come. I didn't even think to drop any hints for Jason, so I didn't know if he would remember to send any. I should have known better! That afternoon the secretary came into our classroom and announced that I had a delivery and if she should bring them in. Being shy, I started to say that we can just leave them out front and I will get them later, but then half of the girls in the classroom starting giggling and telling the secretary to bring them in. I remember Stacie saying that they look forward to the flowers that Jason sends every year! I think this year's bouquet is my favorite! I love how the flowers not only make me feel wonderful, but it also spreads the love to the rest of the people in Outreach (at least the girls!). A few girls even took pictures of the flowers and said that they were going to use this as proof that guys give their wives flowers on their anniversaries. One of the girls told me to thank Jason for sharing our anniversary with the whole group, but also once Outreach is done that he can't slack off and not get me any flowers. So Jason, this is your official warning! I think I will be so excited just to be with Jason next year that I won't need flowers... just him!

Favorite Picture Friday

Well, Lisa is in school this week in Logan. So, I (Jason) have been bach-ing it. I don't know if it is just me missing Lisa, but I wanted to do two pictures for favorite picture Friday.

The first is of course, Lisa! I love her!

The second is a great shot of Spaceship Earth (Not E.P.C.O.T., it is just in E.P.C.O.T.) at Walt Disney World.

Favorite Picture Friday: June 4th, 2010

We thought for this Friday we would post a picture from our recent trip, but one that is more scenic and not of us. I just love this picture! This is what happens when you give Jason and me a camera and a sunset.

Caribbean Cruise Pictures!

We have returned from our most recent trip to the Carribean, but of course we did not return by choice. With the cruise ending, jobs calling, and schooling to be finished we had to return. It was such an amazing time. While on the cruise the fees to get on the internet were outrageous so we didn't post any pictures while out there. Here are some of our favorite pictures and moments on the cruise. We will post more, create a photobucket folder for them, and post our "Top 5 Favorites" later this week before I leave for Outreach one last summer.

Here we are in Key West, our first stop on our cruise. As you can see by the weather and the water, it was gorgeous there. Key West had a relaxed and fun feel to it that made you want to come back.

This marker is to designate the southernmost point of the US. We had to walk across the entire distance to Key West to get to this point... which only took about 10 minutes. Key West isn't very large, but it has a lot to do there.

Of course, we had to have Key Lime Pie out at Key West. Eating Key Lime Pie in Key West was actually something on my bucket list. Jason was so sweet and said that my version on the pie was better, but this pie was so sweet and had a really strong lime flavor that you couldn't help but like it.

Walking around Key West. Being from the desert, we always love seeing those places that can't help but be green and the plants grow everywhere. This house is Ernest Hemingway's house. You can see why he would write a book called "The Old Man and the Sea," being so close to the ocean.

This is a famous landmark of Key West, because it is "Mile 0" of US Highway 1. We weren't even looking for it and stumbled upon it.

Still walking around Key West. This fountain was at the "Little White House," where President Truman would spend time away from the real White House.

Here we are on the cruise boat. This picture makes me think of the old fashioned cruises.

It's true when people say that cruises are romantic. We won't ever disagree with that!!!!

The sunsets on the trip were just amazing! We would sit outside and feel the ocean breeze as we watched the sun set in the Atlantic Ocean horizon. It was just magnificient.

Now to my favorite part of the whole trip. We had decided that when we got to Cozumel, Mexico we would go to a facility where you are allowed to go swimming with some dolphins! That's right, it's not like Sea World where they put on a show for you. Here you jump in the water and there are the dolphins jumping and swimming around you. It had to have been one of the best days of my life. We got to go play in the maternity pool, where there were two Atlantic Bottlenose mothers and their 2 baby dolphins. The picture above is when I found myself just hugging the dolpin, and not caring that pictures were being taken or that anyone else was around me, but that I was holding a magnificient creature in my arms and didn't let go until I had to.

We also learned how the trainers do tricks with the dolphins. The dolphins always did exactly what Jason told them to do. He was really good with them and they liked him because he would give them extra treats. I would just try to cuddle with them. Here is Jason looking like a pro.

It was amazing becasue the dolphins kept swimming back and forth in front of us and every time I would jump and giggle because I was so excited. Swimming with dolphins has always been one of my dreams and also on my bucket list. We were able to spend about 45 minutes playing with the dolphins, having splashing contests (which we lost), having them practice their tricks, and feeding them. It was so amazing and I felt like a whole new person after that experience. I will always look back at that day as one of the most amazing things I could ever do!
